Rémi Blanchard studied for three years at the École des Beaux-arts in Quimper where his teacher was Bernard Lamarche-Vadel.   He belonged to the Figuration Libre, and was very interested in folk tales.   Here he takes up the story of the poor fisherman in Mille et une nuits (Thousand and one Nights), hauling in nets full of fish of every colour.  The simple and poetic figuration corresponds well with the world of folk tales.
