This is a preliminary sketch for wallpaper. The Nabis were particularly interested in all decorative forms, such as illustrations, posters, frescos, theatre décor, etc.  Many of them made studies of wallpaper, as the technique corresponded well with their interest in matt colours in blocks and simplified lines.  It appears that this project was never completed.
