H. 55 cm - W. 122 cm - D. 80 cm

This graceful and delicate vision of a semi-reclining young nymph belongs to the most productive period of Pradier’s successful career: he was one of the greatest sculptors of his time.  A nude figure, possibly the huntress Diana, is lying on a lion skin with one leg folded in modesty.  She is leaning on her right elbow in order to look at a rabbit she is holding up.  The precise subject of this representation may be enigmatic but the sculptor’s skill is remarkable.
